Greening Education Partnership: Synergies and opportunities for climate change education at COP28
On June 10th, Eric Guilyardi, President of the Office for Climate Education (OCE), will participate in an official Side Event in the context of the 58th sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SB 58) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Bonn, Germany.
This side-event entitled Greening Education Partnership: Synergies and opportunities for climate change education at COP28 will discuss how to mobilize the four pillars of the Greening Education Partnership to advocate for education’s role to tackle climate change, including by showcasing evidence, best practices and suggested policies and action to advance CCE implementation at COP28 and beyond.
As the co-coordinator of pillar 2 of the UNESCO Greening Education Partnership “Greening Curriculum”, OCE’s goal is to ensure the relevance and quality of learning content and pedagogy on climate change education (CCE) this discussion is to guarantee that teachers’ capacity building needs are well integrated during the COP28 and to ensure that climate and biodiversity sciences feed the education systems.
